There are 2 options with our Amazon S3 Basic tool to associate a Document file to a Project record and store that document file in Amazon S3

Option 1: Add a Document from the Project Record
  1. Edit or View the Project Record in the grid below
  2. Click the Add Document button
  3. Select the fields on the Documents screen and save the document record
  4. Click the Upload File button in the Documents grid for the record you just added
  5. Select a file to upload from your pc/network
  6. Close the Amazon S3 Basic window
  7. Refresh the Project screen
  8. You should now see a link to download your file in the Documents grid

Option 2: Add a Document from the Documents Tab
  1. From the Documents tab, select Add a New Document
  2. Select the fields on the Documents screen and save the document record
  3. Click the Upload File button on the Documents screen
  4. Select a file to upload from your pc/network
  5. Close the Amazon S3 Basic window
  6. Refresh the Document screen
  7. You should now see a link to download your file on the Documents screen

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.
