This looks great! It has the ability to fill a big void with QuickBase exact forms.

When I click on the link from your html section of the dash it does not open a new window. I knock that QuickBase doesn't insert the target="_blank" by default but it takes me out of your app. There's no wrong way to do it, but i know how confused our customers are that when they open the PDF they will close the window instead of hitting the back button.

I have created a few applications in Quickbase, but my skills are limited to development within the GUI toolset provided by Intuit. 

I need a report that has the flexibility of an Exact Form, in that I can add my own labels, text, images, etc, but I need to be able to query my application for multiple record return (like a report).

Do you have product that facilitates this?

We do have the ability to generate a multiple page, multiple record report, the end report will be created in a word document though.  You can use images, labels etc.

Keith so how do Install the template?  I have downloaded the template but don't see the option to save to Quickbase like the Exact forms have on their file menu.

Hi Brian,  unfortunately, its not that simple.  You won't see an option in word for our utility like you do for QB Exact Forms.  Our process is a little create a word document, that acts like a template, and upload it to your QB app.  

This is a premium utility that requires a monthly subscription.  We will help you configure your QB app to use this utility if you decide to subscribe.
Once your app is configured, we have to set you up on our webserver to allow you to gain access to the utility.

QB Application changes required to your app...
  - create a new table in you QB app called Document Templates.
  - create your word document template and upload it to this new table.
  - create a File Attachment field in yor "Parent" table to store the generated Word document.
  - create a formula URL field in you "Parent" table to execute our utility.

If I give you my template do you put it into the format for Exact Forms Plus, or do we??

I am trying to export a report from Quickbase to Word and have the resulting export show very little of the Quickbase formatting.  Would something like Exact Forms Plus provide a solution that I need, or is this more for exporting 1 record at a time into Word? Exact Forms Plus! is not just for one record at a time processing.  We have customers using it to generate word documents for multiple "Master" records and it works very nicely for them.  
Examples include
- Certificate generation - create  the same certificate for a select group of customers.
 - Lease Agreements - generate renewal lease agreements for all tenants whose lease is expiring on a specific date.

I've been looking for a solution to generating editable word docs from QB.  To create PDF's do you need Adobe pdf writer installed? Hi Chris,
  our utility does just generates word documents that are editable.

As for your pdf question...NO you do not need Adobe pdf writer installed.  We do the pdf conversion on our webserver and deliver the pdf right to your qb application, or to your Amazon S3 bucket.

Right now QB only allows users to integrate table reports in their Exact forms.  I'd like to insert the graphs and charts.  Can your utility do that?  Also, can you send me a pricing list?

Hello, I’m working in a project that requires printing a report from Quickbase but instead of printing the report with all the information, we want to have the availability of printing page breaks based on the group by sort function of the QuickBase report, aside from that we want to have the capability to customize the graphics printed, I read a little bit on QB Exact Forms but it seems that it can be done only per QB record, I understand that we can create a view for every item but when you have 1000+ items it becomes impossible. 

Based on the above, is this something that Exact Forms PLUS! can do? Or are there any other alternatives to accomplish this request that you can offer? Please advice.

Yes, we can generate multiple documents in a single button click.  So you don't have to click the create document button for each record.  The design of you application also determines the feasibilty of this type of processing.  For example in this demo there are multiple Puchase Orders for a Project.  To create each PO document you can edit each PO record one by one and click the create doc button OR you can edit the project record and click create PO documents once and it will perform the same function as if you clicked the button for each individual PO record.

How can I remove this link from my application You can remove any application link from your My QuickBase page by changing your display from "Icons" to "Details".  Then find the app you want to remove, right click on it and select "remove from list" from the menu.  (when you right click, make sure you are not hovering directly over the app name, move your cursor to the right in the "white space" then right click) Bailey, Shaun 03-18-2010 09:48 AM
Can Filter the data?

Yes, data filtering is available.  If you want to create mulitple documents you would pass in an "msqry" parameter that tells Exact Forms Plus! which records to generate documents for.  Exact Forms Plus! will create a document for each record that meets the filtering criteria and attach each document to its respective quickbase record.
The msqry parameter uses the same syntax that the quickbase doquery api uses.
ex:  msqry={'11'.EX.'Active'}  this would produce a document for every record in your table that has a value of "Active" in field id 11.

These include:
 - making a few minor modifications to your application 
 - configuring our webserver for your account to gain access to our tool.
 - creation of a word document that you would like to see as your first template.

These modifications take a few hours and are covered as part of the initial setup fee that we charge.

Wondering about whether attachments create a storage issue and add'l cost. I currently use exact forms for Point of Sale document and word is cumbersome to format it properly. Any help?
Anytime you add files it will increase your file attachment storage usage BUT you don't have to store the generated document in a file attachment field.  We have an option that will allow you to open the generated word or pdf document in your browser, eliminating the need to store it in a file attachment field. When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quick Base often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quick Base finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quick Base needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.
